Vanessa

Vanessa Serrano Molinero

Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. PhD from Ramon Llull University within the Official Doctorate Program in Economics and Business in 2015.

She worked as an associate professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and as a teacher and researcher at IQS School of Management and IQS School of Engineering, of the Universitat Ramon Llull.

She currently works as research staff within the ARGET group (Applied Research Group in Education and Technology) of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, applying multivariate analysis techniques to identify profiles of teachers and students regarding their level of digital competence, attitude and educational use of digital technologies.

She has been a member of the ASISTEMBE research group (Analytics, Simulations and Inquiry in STEM and Business Education). She currently collaborates with the ADAMIQS (Applied Data Analytics and Modeling IQS) research group. She is also a member of Spain's R users' association, the R Hispano Community.

Research lines

  • Development and analysis of the use of interactive applications for learning in STEM through the collection of traces and the application of data mining techniques.
  • Analysis of the impact of the dissemination of financial information by companies through social networks using text mining techniques.
  • Application of multivariate analysis techniques to identify profiles of teachers and students regarding their level of digital competence, attitude and educational use of digital technologies.
